Welcome to MDABenefitShow.com!
It has always been our goal since the conception of this show 5 years ago to have something for everyone and to make it a premier car show. This year we will be trying some new things in order to improve the quality of the show. The first change will be the location, which we consider a step in the right direction. The show will be held at Hooter's and Hardee's on State Street in Champaign. The second and biggest change is the fact that we have moved into the modern age of technology with our website, online registration and most importantly registration the day of the show will be done electronically! No more worries about being called back to the registration table to verify your name, address or make of car. We are doing this with the goal that registration will go very quickly for the participants. We will also enter all the judges scores on the computer so no one will be missed or the scores be added incorrectly. After registering, please be sure to check out our new informational tent. There will be a video and informational pamphlets about the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This is the reason we host this show and we would like to share that information with you.
A few things that will be happening the day of the show. Students from the Parkland Massage Therapist Program will be on hand to work out those kinks after detailing your car. There will be no charge for these services, but tips will be accepted and donated to the show. Hardee's will be donating 10% of their sales from the hours of 7:00am to 10:00am so be sure to have breakfast with them. If that isn't enough for you, Hooter's will be taking care of lunch by donating 10% of their sales between the hours of 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Please be sure to let gracious host businesses know that you appreciate their support when you have breakfast or lunch with them. Once again we will have raffle drawings and a 50/50 drawing. A few of the Hooter's girls will be on hand to sell tickets for the many items that have been donated. We will also have a silent auction and have already received items that can not be found in stores. One of the things that we are working on for the silent auction is something from the U of I sports teams. (also be on the look out for some boys in Orange and Blue) For fun, Hardee's is working on hosting a "smash bash". For those of you that do not know what this is, it is a change to take your frustration out on a car with a sledge hammer.
The day of the show is still six weeks away and we are hoping for a lot more things that will make it an enjoyable day for all. It is our goal to be able to increase the size of our donation at the telethon this year. That is not possible without the support of the community. We still have a lot of classes and awards that need sponsored, so if you know of anyone that might be interested in helping us out please give them our contact information. Thank You in advance for supporting us in our endeavor to give back to an organization that has been a part of our lives for over 20 years. See you all on June 19th!!
